Similar to Mother of Pearl shells - gives a rainbow effect depending on colour of glaze it is over. Lustres and Metallics for 3rd fire decoration.
Fires between 700-800oC depending on the glaze it is applied to.
Earthenware lead glazes only require 700oC and high temperature porcelain glazes require up to 800oC.
